Suited for Success is a 6-week job readiness and workforce development program that requires cohort members to attend two sessions per week, with each session lasting 5 hours. The program will cover topics including job readiness, professionalism, communication, workplace skills, resume workshops, individualized employment plan (IEP), mock interviews, career matching with employer partners, and cognitive behavioral intervention (CBI) workshops addressing trauma, violence interruption, and resilience. Cohort members will complete a weekly evaluation measuring the development of both hard and soft skills, as well as their understanding of the material taught each week.
Eligibility Criteria:
Cohort member must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
We accept referrals for high-risk individuals involved in violence within the last 2-3 years. Examples of involvement in violence may include assault with a deadly weapon, armed or unarmed auto theft, robbery, murder, attempted murder, or manslaughter.
Cohort members are expected to attend all training sessions and workshops and show up on time.
Cohort members are only allowed to miss one session from the six-week program, and notice must be provided 48 hours in advance.
Cohort members may have to take a drug test or a background check at the time of employment.
We accept referrals from community partners, community violence interruption partners, non-profits, and criminal justice agencies.
